The South Seattle Crime Prevention Council (SSCPC) is...

An all-volunteer organization.

We are proudly the oldest active crime prevention council in the nation.  We receive no funding, other than donations from very generous community members.

The mission of the South Seattle Crime Prevention Council is to strengthen the community, within its defined boundaries, by working on issues of crime and public safety that affect this community's quality of life and spirit.

We meet the first Wednesday of every month, except in July and August, at 7pm at the Southeast Seattle Senior Center (SESSC), located at 4655 South Holly Street (the southwest corner of Rainier Avenue South and South Holly).

The public, regardless of where one lives or works, is welcome to attend all SSCPC meetings.  You are ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND our meetings if you have an emerging or ongoing issue in your neighborhood.  There is time at every meeting to discuss your concerns with Seattle South Precinct police  officers.  Neighbors often notice a troubling trend in criminal and/or suspicious activities in their neighborhoods before crime statistics alert police to the problem.

If you have a suggestion for our website, please send an email to: website@southcpc.org    We strive to provide information on our web site which is clearly written and easy to understand; please inform us of your thoughts--we are receptive to feedback of all kinds.

SSCPC's organizational structure

We have a board of directors, of up to 15 members, made up community members that live within the South Precinct. The SSCPC works closely with the Seattle Police Department, specifically, the leadership of the South Precinct.  We are an independent voice of the community and receive no City funding.
