PAT MURAKAMI -  President
  • Moved to Seattle in 1975, South Seattle in 1990
  • Graduated from University of Puget Sound – Master’s in Business Administration
  • Graduated from University of Washington - B.A. Business Administration and B.A. Sociology
  • Business owner of computer firm based in Seattle – offices in Mt. Baker and Georgetown
  • Began volunteering at age 9 – public library, visiting the elderly, tutoring younger students
  • Extensive volunteer work with Seattle Public Schools – fundraising, chess clubs & tournaments, tutoring
  • Founder and President of MCOM – Many Cultures, One Message
  • Past PCO 37th District Democrats
  • Past President of Mount Baker Community Club
  • Past President of SE Neighborhood District Council
  • Past Vice Chair of City Neighborhood Council
  • Past President Cleveland High School PTSA 



MARIANA QUARNSTROM  –  Vice President & Treasurer
  • Born & raised in Central & South America; fluent in Spanish
  • Nursing degree from Washington Hospital Center School of Nursing
  • Active in school issues, Boy & Girl Scouts, soccer coach
  • Worked as general contractor for 18 years
  • PCO 37th District Democrats
  • Board member: Kubota Gardens 3 yrs, Fdtn. for Int’l Understanding through Students 4 years
  • Member of Crime Prevention Council for 14 yrs; President for 10 years



DOUG CARGILL - Secretary
  • Graduated from Stanford University with a degree in City Planning & Urban Design
  • Naval Officer 6 years
  • Resident of Columbia City since 1995
  • Employed by businesses in the Rainier Valley since 1999
  • Currently work with a variety of businesses in Rainier Valley (since 2001)
  • Primarily interested in building “healthy neighborhoods” as a way of preventing crime
  • Board member of the Rainier Valley Community Development Fund



BILL DAVIS
  • Has lived in Seattle since age 3
  • Lived in southeast Seattle since 1969
  • Graduated from Garfield High School
  • Served in U.S. Air Force
  • Fifteen years with Pacific Northwest Bell/AT&T Information Services
  • Home-based software consultant and programmer since 1986
  • Board Member, Mount Baker Community Club



GROVER HAYNES
  • Born & raised in Louisiana
  • Korean War veteran
  • Engineer with The Boeing Company (41 yrs)
  • Little League baseball coach
  • Serve on Elementary through High School PTSA boards
  • Member, Seattle Parks Levy committee
  • Past President, SE Seattle Crime Prevention Council
  • Past President, Lakewood Seward Park Community Association
  • Past President, Genesee Merchants’ Association

PATRICIA PASCHAL
  • Retired independent computer systems consultant
  •  33-year resident of Rainier Valley
  • Member of Save Our Valley since shortly after its founding, informed the community of adverse impacts of at-grade light rail
  • Original Board Member of RVCDF (Rainier Valley Community Development Fund) where she helped establish the organization in 2002, including policies and procedures for distributing mitigation money to impacted businesses along MLK
  • Participated in the definition and implementation of the community development business line at RVCDF
  • Member of  ONA (Othello Neighborhood Association)



ERIK STANFORD
  • Seattle native
  • Has lived in SE Seattle since 1970
  • A “south end mutt”
  • Attended Seattle schools – Hawthorne, Whitworth, South Shore, Franklin, Garfield and Cornish
  • Active in his neighborhood
  • Managing Broker at Windermere, Mt. Baker
  • Wants to help the

  • Resident of North Beacon Hill

  • Graduated from Cleveland High School
  • Small business owner for 19 years

  • Currently retired
  • Very active in Beacon Hill issues



GRACE TSUCHIKAWA
  • Has in South Seattle her entire live
  • Board Member Advisory Council at Jefferson Community Center for the past 15 years
  • Board Member Seattle Chinese Athletic Association for past 18 years
  • Regular attendee of SSCPC meetings
  • Being involved in the community is important to her
